Noel Gallagher has gotten a lot of backlash for not being part of the One Love Manchester concert over the weekend, with his brother Liam priming the pump on Twitter. Additionally, rumors started somewhere along the way that Oasis would be reuniting for the show, as the band hails from Manchester. (Chris Martin and Ariana Grande performed 'Don't Look Back In Anger', while Chris also joined Liam for 'Live Forever')
Now, the organizers of the event have come to Noel's defense confirming that there were never any plans for Noel to be there, while thanking him for permission to use his music during the performance.
“Sunday’s concert was a huge success and we are all dismayed that there is negativity aimed towards Noel Gallagher. Neither Noel nor Oasis were ever going to perform. We were extremely pleased when, last week, Noel not only gave his blessing for us to use his songs, but also told us that he was donating his royalties from ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’ to the fund. Let’s keep the positivity please. One Love Manchester.”
