Yesterday, several pieces of video surfaced of Police literally pulling a man from an overbooked United Airlines flight and dragging him down the aisle, as he refused to vacate his seat on request of airline. As the story developed yesterday, a lot of focus was placed on the fact that the man was a Doctor who needed to return home to see his patients.
Whenever a story like this develops, we start getting bombarded with additional info about all of the relevant parties, whether its the victim or airline personnel or the Police officers. TMZ has since shared some additional information on the Doctor which does make the situation any more (or less forgivable). However, I wonder if this info will change the public's sympathy toward him at all? (IMHO the man's past crimes doesn't make the situation any worse or better). Interesting nonetheless...
According to TMZ, Dr. David Dao was charged with 98 felony drug counts for illegally prescribing and trafficking painkillers back in 2005. Prosecutors alleged that Dao would fill prescriptions for Hydocodone, Oxycontin and Percocet fraudulently and was convicted of 6 felony counts. More HERE (via TMZ)
