Coachella website hacked; user data stolen

The organizers of Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival have notified their customers that their website has been compromised.  According to the email to their users, “We recently discovered that unauthorized third parties illegally gained access to the usernames, first and last names, shipping addresses, email addresses, phone numbers and dates of birth individuals provided to Coachella. We have confirmed that no user passwords were stolen.”  A statement from organizers says that no financial information was compromised and suggested that their users change associated passwords.

This email follows a recent report by Motherboard that a data trader was attempting to sell the account info for over 950,000 users of the Coachella website.
