It seems like every year we start hearing about more and more festivals and with the abundance of them, some are suggesting that the lineups are becoming a bit diluted. Yet, the Festival promoters must still see opportunity, as we’re hearing word that the group that owns Coachella (AEG) and the group that owns Bonnaroo and Outside Lands (Superfly) are working on plans to launch a new “super festival” in Denver in September of 2018, with anticipated crowd size around 30,000-60,000, with a ‘Coachella-esque experience’ where music and art collide.
Westworld reports the proposed location is Denver’s Overland Park Golf Course, which was previously home to the Mile High Music Festival, which shut down in 2010. Westworld also reports that public meetings were held last week to present the idea to the community members who are reportedly split on the idea of a new major event.
