INTERVIEW: Philadelphia Film Festival

Can you believe the Philadelphia Film Festival is in it's 27th year this year? If you're a newbie like me, this is definitely a super cool interview to get you up to speed w/ this year's Philadelphia Film Festival which kicks off tonight!

The festival's executive director Andrew Greenblatt artistic director Michael Lerman stopped by to chat with me about this amazing event and different films to look forward to.

Here's some stuff you need to know:

The Festival kicks off tonight and runs 11 Days long. (October 18-28)

With over 125 films from 37 countries, there are ore than 200 screenings and there are a lot of things to see and lots of opportunities to see these films.

We talked about a few standout films that Andrew and Michael both loved including a film I am super excited about called'Her Smell'. Michael Lerman said the film is "Suffocating in a way.. A drug fueled, high octane backstage type of movie that captures that spirit and it is so beautifully done." Andrew reminded me that music is SO essential to film, and even the categories outside of film's being about music...The soundtrack is always critical. I think you'll love the films we discussed in our chat in studio, and I hope you head out to a screening during the Film Festival, and I hope you enjoy our conversation below!
