Florence + The Machine Pay Tribute to Patti Smith on New Album

On June 29th, Florence + The Machine will release their brand new fourth studio album "High As Hope". Florence Welch took the time to call into Radio1045 to chat about all the exciting news about the new album!

Going into this interview, there was a lot I wanted to discuss, and creativity was a big theme in this conversation. Florence told me about how her creativity has gotten better by understanding herself more, instead of looking for other destructive ways to find creativity. " I thought I needed partying to unleash it, but it was always there, and the more I took care of myself, the stronger it became."

Florence also pays tribute to Patti Smith on the new album with the song "Patricia". Although she has still never met Patti Smith, Florence said she found it inspiring to read about the reverence Patti Smith had for the little things in life. "Patti Smith became a Creative North Star for me".

Also, don't worry- Florence + The Machine definitely plan on coming to Philly after the new album is released!
