WATCH: Dave Matthews & Trey Anastasio perform "Waste"

This past weekend was the Concert for Island Relief, a benefit show featuring Dave Matthews, The Trey Anastasio Band, Aaron Neville & more! It all happened at Radio City Music Hall and one of the high points was when Trey joined Dave together on stage to perform Phish's "Waste". The two musicians haven't shared the stage together since 2007 and decided to play "Waste" which Dave noted is his favorite Phish song. The rendition is gorgeous and this rules so hard. My friend Gina was there and she said it was the best decision she made going to this show.

Here are some awesome notes about this performance, according to JamBase:

Trey Anastasio wrote “Waste” with Tom Marshall for inclusion on 1996’s Billy Breathes. Dave picked the song as his contribution to a Phish tribute compilation put together in 2000 to raise funds for The Mockingbird Foundation, Sharin’ In The Groove. Matthews went on to perform the song solo during DMB concerts. Then, in 2003 and 2004, Anastasio toured as part of Dave & Friends and the two played “Waste” a handful of times. Saturday’s performance of the tune was the first featuring Matthews since 2006.
