In a surprise story, money has caused problems with two people!
The Daily Star reports that a woman in England, Charlotte Cox, bought a scratch-off ticket and hit it big for £1 million. Not long after, she broke up with her boyfriend Michael Cartlidge. But Michael is claiming that he should get some of the money because it was his idea to buy the ticket and he was sending Charlotte some cash to pay for it, though it went through long after she bought it. Furthermore, her name was signed to the back of the ticket and Allwyn, the company that runs the lottery, said that Michael won't get anything. Of course now Michael is trying to sue.
This whole thing sounds like he's not going to get a bit of this money, that Charlotte paid for the ticket and it's clearly hers. I know I'd be furious too if I got dumped after my girlfriend hit a big jackpot, but this sounds like a too bad situation.
