With just 35 days left to go and no venue it seems that the organizers of Woodstock 50 are still somehow trying to make this thing happen, though I'd say it's certainly not looking good.
This week the festival lost it's 2nd venue in Vernon, NY but co-founder Michael Lang is looking to make one last ditch effort in trying to have the show go on in Vernon. It's a pretty desperate attempt indeed, and probably won't lead to anything...but gotta give the dude credit for keeping the faith.
So what is this last attempt? Taking to Instagram and begging.
"Will the Town of Vernon allow peace, love & music to prevail so we can celebrate Woodstock50 with you?” the festival wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday. “Upon permit approval we’ll announce our ticket on sale. Please share to show your support.”
Hmm...do they really think people on Instagram sharing the post will change their mind? There's a ton of concerns that have come up as well as a bunch of artists contracts having been voided. I'd say this post only solidifies that we will not be celebrating the 50th anniversary of Woodstock this year, and at this point it's probably for the better.
