Recently it was announced that, despite their lack of interest, Radiohead would be inducted into Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2019!
As the band had previously said they didn't really care if it happened or not, it had everyone wondering if the band would even show up!
Well, while the jury is still out where the rest of the band is concerned, it's now been revealed that frontman Thom Yorke will NOT be in attendance. However, it's not that he's ditching just because he doesn't want to go!
Speaking with Variety, Thom said he's got another commitment is all.
“I can’t. I know I can’t, because of these piano pieces that I’ve written. There’s the Paris Philharmonic, so I have to be there for that.”
With that said I don't think he's all that upset to miss the event, as he's "always been very blasé about that stuff."
“We don’t want to offend anyone. We just think that we just don’t quite understand it. We’ve had it explained to us, so it’s cool. But we don’t really understand it as English people. I think our problem is essentially that every awards ceremony in the UK stinks. We grew up with the Brits, which is like this sort of drunken car crash that you don’t want to get involved with. So, yeah, we don’t really know what to make of it.”
Hah! While this is definitely a bigger honor than he knows, maybe the rest of the band will attend!
