We're backstage at our 12th Radio 104.5 Birthday Celebration with Jammin' Jessie and David Shaw and Zack Feinberg of The Revivalists talking about the music video for "Change," moving to New Orleans, meeting on a front porch, and more.
The band explains that the music video for "Change" was filmed at Meow Wolf, the immersive art experience in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Watch the music video below.
David then explains his move from the suburbs of Cincinnati, Ohio to New Orleans saying, "Ya know, it's a, to make a long story short - it's a music cultural city. And I didn't really want to be in such a buisnessey environment. And it just kind of fit my personality. And I just love the city, ya know, it's just got such a rich culture." Band mate Zack interrupts joking, "He also got a job busting concrete." Zack adds that he is from Pleasantville, NY and used to see shows at the BB&T Pavilion growing up.
Before continuing their conversation, Jessie gets distracted by Davids Alexander McQueen designer pants from London.
Back to the music, Jessie comments on the amazing talent in New Orleans and the timing of Zack and David's meeting -- David was playing music on his front porch and Zack so happened to pass by on his bike. He liked what he heard and stopped to strike up a conversation about the tunes.
There are 8 members of The Revivalists (Watch them crash the end of the interview) and Jessie asks about the level of creative trust amongst them. David explains, "It's definitely a process but also it kind of ebbs and flows. Honestly, because like we're always kind of changing as a band and I don't know where we're headed in the future but like, you know, it's like one of those things where it's like kind of go here and go over there - and some people are writing alot at one point and maybe not alot at another point. Someone else is maybe writing alot at this point... you know, so like I think it's definitely, um, it's evolved over the years and certainly gotten better and more chill. I think we're in a good place."
