10 years after their last album, The Cure is headed into the studio

What's the goth equivalent of feeling giddy?  Because that's the feeling I'm currently experiencing but can't quite put my finger on with news that The Cure is headed back into the studio next month.  It's been a decade - TEN YEARS - since their last studio album, so yeah, this is news!

In an interview with BBC 6 Music front man (and the only constant member of the band) Robert Smith said that they've booked studio time for next month and that he's "suddenly fallen in love with the idea of writing new songs."  Swoon!!!

The Cure is celebrating 40 years as a band in 2018 by playing a show in London's Hyde Park this summer, and Robert Smith will perform at and is curating the Meltdown Festival in London in July.
