WATCH Quiet Slang's live debut at SXSW

Last night (03.14.18), Philly's Beach Slang made their live debut as Quiet Slang at a showcase at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas....and I was lucky enough to be able to experience it in person.  I'm down here in Austin soaking in all the live music I can, and this was a particularly special show.

James Alex & co ran thru the entire Quiet Slang album  (Everything Matters But No One Is Listening, out May 18th) start to finish accompanied by a string quartet (that he confessed they had only met an hour or so before the performance) and a piano.

The setting was kind of perfect, and the strings sounded sublime in the sanctuary of St. David's Episcopal Church (also surreal/cool that alcoholic drinks were allowed in there for the show)

James mentioned there WILL be more Quiet Slang live shows after Beach Slang's tour with Dashboard Confessional.  Hopefully a hometown Philly show is part of that plan.

I snagged a couple videos from the performance that you can check out below, and hopefully you'll be able to see/hear/experience it for yourself in person soon too.
