The Pennsylvania driver's license is getting a brand new look.
The new design has already started to be rolled out by PennDOT in some cities, and by November all driver and photo centers will switch over to the new design.
The new cards have more security features, including a larger picture, a 2D barcode, and laser perforation with "PA" embedded into the card.
This new design idea is being used to increase security BUT still will NOT be compliant with federal REAL ID requirements. That looks like it won't happen until 2019.
Look at it this way - more chances to get a photo that doesn't make you look 50 pounds heavier and 20 years older, lol!
