Facebook,Instagram banning sexual use of emojis

What? First Facebook opened up our Election propaganda to Russian bot farms…now they’re banning the ‘sexual use’ of Eggplant and Peach emojis!

Apparently, Facebook and Instagram updated their Community Standards language to prohibit the use of emojis which can be construed as sexual in nature. The Facebook Community Standards language doesn’t name any specific emojis, but we know what they mean when the refer to “[commonly used] sexual emojis or emoji strings” as criteria which qualify as “Suggestive Elements.”.According to the NY Post, Instagram has told them that“[Content] will only be removed from Facebook and Instagram if it contains a sexual emoji alongside an implicit or indirect ask for nude imagery, sex or sexual partners, or sex chat conversations,” while clarifying that they are not taking action simply on innocuous emojis.

The NY Post also reports that, naked pix with emojis covering your bits and pieces are no longer allowed, along with any links to pornographic material.
