Reports of Chris Cornell movie appear to be fabricated

Is Brad Pitt making a movie about the life of the late Soundgarden/Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell? For a few minutes, we thought that it was happening...which I think could have been awesome.

Loudwire shared a story announcing the cast, which apparently has been deleted. Meanwhile, Chris's widow, Vicky, has shared a Tweet indicating that there is no movie in the works and that the posts prompting the stories were the work of 'Trolls and Haters'.

The original story suggested that actor Launchlin MacDonald would star as Chris, while Robert DeNiro's adoptive daughter Drena DeNiro would play Chris's wife, Vicky Cornell. As for Launchlin MacDonald, he does resemble Chris. MacDonald's other work includes roles in films including 'Ocean's Thirteen', as well as TV roles in 'Hollywood Girl', 'Lucky Stars' and 'Lucy'. De Niro has appeared in movies including 'Great Expectations' and Furlough'.

Additional roles that were reportedly filled include Chris's mom Karen, portrayed by Adelicia Morris and Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayill will be portrayed by Sandeep. The film would also include archival footage of Soundgarden, Audioslave, Pearl Jam and Nirvana.
