RIP Phillies Chairman David Montgomery

Very sad to hear of the passing of David Montgomery, the Phillies Chairman who oversaw the 2008 World Champion Phillies along with the construction of Citizen's Bank Park. Montgomery was 72 and had been battling jaw-bone cancer since 2014.

Wharton Grad Montgomery got his start as a sales apprentice in 1971 and ascended through the ranks until 1997 when he took over as President and General Partner. Montgomery remained the face of the team until 2015 when his partner John Middleton took over as the face of the group ownership which has owned the club since 1981.
