While many people attend music festivals because of the ACTUAL MUSIC (I know. Weird, right?), people are definitely also known to go to bigger ones like Coachella just to say they were there, right?
Well, one social media personality has admitted to faking attending the music fest which went down in California for the past few weekends. Why? Just to show how easy it would be to do so!
Yup if you've visited social media influencer Gabbie Hanna's social media page over the past few weeks you saw her having a great time at Coachella! The only problem? She was never really there. Ahe documented the whole process in a new video called "I Faked Going To Coachella!" In said video she shows how regularly updating to her IG story and working with an artist to Photoshop her into different images made her followers think she was there!
She did this to show that most influencers will actually attend, but many of them fabricate the actual experience they have.
“People look at people on Instagram and social media and they think, ‘Wow their life is impossibly perfect, that body, that vacation, that car…’ So much of it’s fake, and that’s okay, I’m not shading anybody who does that on social media because it is a viable career, but for an average viewer who’s just watching these things and is firing for these things, just know that those things aren’t always as attainable as they seem.”
Hmm...do you agree with her decision to do something like this? See how it all went down:
