AJR Backstage Interview

AJR join Johnny backstage before performing at ourRadio 104.5 11th Birthday Celebration Night 2!

Johnny dresses in Jack's famous "hat" that fans are also wearing to shows as the band discusses their last performance in Philadelphia at Radio 104.5's Winter Jawn in January, 2018. During the show the boys were each facing ailments as Adam had a back injury, Jack had a broken leg, and Ryan was recovering from food poisoning.

They also discuss the success of their single Sober Up and how it led to working with Rivers Cuomo (best known for Weezer). Ryan explains: "We wrote and produced on of his singles called Medicine for Melancholy. We just love working with him. He has such an interesting mind. The way he thinks and the way he writes is so different from the way we write and we learn a lot. He's such an interesting character."

The brothers have also recently collaborated with Steve Aoki and Lil Yachty (We'll add it below so you can check out the song!) and write for many artists but still find time for other actives. Adam just finished his first year studying for his PhD in England and even wrote his Masters Thesis from the back of a tour bus!

AJR's song "Burn The House Down" has become the anthem for the March For Our Lives movement. "I think it's a movement that's so important to our generation... We wrote the song as just kind of our own personal like honest version of a political song just observing what's going on in our generation."

AJR is working on their next album and feeling a new energy with their increase in fans and followers.
